A great evening out

I can’t believe it’s over two weeks since our trip to the Scottish Parliament (thanks to Ivan McKee MSP). It’s probably taken me that long to recover. First I worried the chair yogis wouldn’t turn up. But just like in Field of Dreams they emerged from all corners of Glasgow – the Belles from Baillieston, the Broads from Bridgeton, the Chicks from Coatbridge, the Babes from Barmulloch and the Guys and Dolls from Easterhouse.

Then I worried that the coach wouldn’t turn up. But McNairns and Driver John were there bang on time to scoop us up. I’ve never heard such chatter all the way to Edinburgh.

In the Garden Lobby we scoffed the breakfast rolls, hoovered up the tea, coffee and sweet stuff and settled down for the film Catriona Phillips (what a talent) made about the work YoGlasgow! does in the various venues across the northeast of Glasgow. She is currently adding the Parliament visit and once it’s ready, we will upload the film to the website.

We had speeches by Ivan McKee MSP, Colette Mason from the Health Alliance Scotland, Maree Todd Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport and our own Richard McShane of the Phoenix Centre. Then it was time for the action. Mick got the chair yogis and guests moving and Caroline closed the session.

It was a great evening, the chair yogis did us proud and they didn’t stop chatting all the way home!
