We are very lucky to have received Lululemon’s Here to Be award. During the pandemic this has enabled YoGlasgow! to run a free weekly Chair Yoga class on Tuesdays from 11.15 am. This Zoom programme will continue until we are able to take the Chair Yoga Programme back into the Community.
I (Caroline) have been teaching these sessions. I was a bit apprehensive at first teaching on Zoom, but it’s a great way to create a community of yogis who are keen to practise yoga from their own homes. We have been running it for a few months with participants from Glasgow as well as the west coast of Scotland.
Yoga is all about helping your body to be in the best shape it can. If your body has to sit down to do this, well Chair Yoga (or Seated Yoga) is ideal. You still get all the benefits: stretching, bending, twisting, weight bearing and relaxing. To see what is involved you can check out the Yoglasgow! Youtube channel.
