You might call it prana, I might call it chi, some might talk about life force. Whatever it is, it’s what yoga is all about. BKS Iyengar describes it very well: ‘When the nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine and genito-excretory systems are cleansed through asanas [the poses/postures], prana moves unobstructed to the remotest cells and feeds them with a copious supply of energy.’ A yoga session should leave you physically nourished, not a sweaty, red-faced mess.
